The oil-air lubrication retrofit of Tianfeng Steel's narrow strip rolling mill was contracted to Yantai Huashun Machinery Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., and completed in March 2014. The finishing mill's second roll and roughing mill's second roll have been put into operation.
On-site monitoring from July 15th to July 30th, 2014, showed that after the oil-air lubrication retrofit, bearing consumption was significantly reduced compared to dry grease lubrication. It also reduced lubrication costs, equipment failure rate, and water pollution, greatly improving the on-site environment. The on-site performance was excellent. Compared to grease lubrication, oil-air lubrication saved 27,220 yuan in costs within half a month.
If all two rolls of the finishing mill were to use oil-air lubrication, the estimated annual savings would be 653,280 yuan. If all four rolls of the finishing mill were to use oil-air lubrication equipment, the estimated annual savings would be (1,111,076 - 21,280 x 2) x 12 = 822,192 yuan.
