In March 2013, seven production lines in Jiujiang steel's No. 3, No. 2, and No. 1 steelmaking plants underwent a conversion to oil-air lubrication for the secondary cooling section, leveling machine, pre-cutting rolls, post-cutting rolls, and billet exit rolls.
Each line has 375 lubrication points, with a monthly oil consumption of 4 barrels and virtually zero bearing consumption.
Before the conversion, the monthly grease consumption was 12 barrels, and the bearing wear was 15 sets. After the conversion, monthly oil cost savings were approximately 25,000 yuan, bearing cost savings were approximately 4,500 yuan, and monthly equipment operating time increased by 6 hours.
