Hebei Qianjin Steel 700 Strip Steel Oil-Air Lubrication Retrofit Report

The Hebei Qianjin Steel Group Co., Ltd. 700 Strip Steel Oil-Air Lubrication Project, contracted by Yantai Huashun Machinery Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., was completed and successfully put into operation on July 15, 2012.

After improving the lubrication method, the 700 strip steel oil-air lubrication system operates well, all lubricated components function normally, oil consumption is low, bearing consumption is reduced, equipment failure rate is lowered, and equipment uptime is increased.

Specific consumption figures are as follows:

1. Lubricating oil consumption:

Before the upgrade, 4000L of high-temperature grease was consumed monthly, at 40 yuan per liter, resulting in a monthly lubricating oil cost of 160,000 yuan.

After the upgrade, 2000L of lubricating oil was consumed monthly, at 18 yuan per liter, resulting in a monthly lubricating oil cost of 36,000 yuan; annual oil savings amounted to 1,488,000 yuan.

2. Bearing consumption:

Before the upgrade, 2-3 work rolls burned out daily, and approximately 15 support rolls burned out monthly. Each bearing set cost 3000 yuan, resulting in a monthly bearing cost of 225,000 yuan.

After the upgrade, approximately 8 work rolls and support rolls are consumed monthly, resulting in a monthly bearing cost of 24,000 yuan; annual bearing savings amounted to 201,000 yuan.

Without considering the increased yield, reduced wastewater treatment costs, and lower labor costs, annual savings in oil and bearings alone amount to 1,689,000 yuan. The investment cost was recovered in less than a year, achieving the expected results; the project transformation was a success.
