How long can the oil in the bearing housing continue to lubricate when the power is off in oil-air lubrication?

After a power outage in the oil-air lubrication equipment, the residual lubricating oil and the stable oil film formed within the bearing housing can meet short-term lubrication needs under critical operating conditions. Its core endurance capability can sustain the completion of a heat of steel or the rolling of online billets.

This endurance stems from the technical characteristics of oil air lubrication: during normal operation, compressed air precisely delivers lubricating oil in the form of fine droplets to the bearing friction surfaces, forming an oil film that combines load-bearing and protective functions. A certain amount of lubricating oil is also stored in the bearing housing.

After a power outage, although oil-air delivery ceases, the residual oil film and stored oil continue to provide lubrication, resisting the high temperatures and heavy-load friction during rolling, preventing dry-grinding damage to the bearings, ensuring the smooth completion of the current heat or online billet rolling task, and buying time for emergency response.
